Hi Marikki,
I’ll tried the update but no watermark is printed.
- Installing the pluging is no problem
- Editing “/wordpress/wp-admin/includes/media.php” no problem
- options -> watermark -> comnfigure my watermark.
- In the preview the watermark is ok!
- options -> watermark dir > select dile -> watermark
Watermark-Plugin 0.8 – Watermark – Directory
Watermark files:
/home/website/domains/website.com/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/test.jpg … done
test.bak is also creacted but the file test.jpg contains no watermark.
what’s the problem?
Hi Mark,
please check following steps:
1. Did you save the configuration? If you are satisfied with the preview, you have to save the configuration.
2. Did you reloaded the new file? Depending on configuration, after watermarking the old picture will be loaded from the cache. You must reload then! E.g. RM->View Graphic-> Push F5 for reload.
Tell me if this steps are helpful for to resolve your problem.

This plugin dont work with wordpress 2.6!
What’s more information you want? I think you should know that your plugin work or not
Before I use wordpress 2.5 and use your plugin everything okay
when I upload photo. it will have watermark on that photo.
Everything same I never change any config or setting after I first install
In Settings>Watermark
Create Watermark? > YES
Type of Watermark > Use file stempel.png as watermark
And the preview photo from the right side show watermark normally
But When I upgrade to WordPress 2.6 , I upload photo but no watermark in photo
I go to check in setting everthing seem okay, I still can see preview image with watermark on the right
So how?
I try to uninstall > delete all plugin files > delete wm_save_options and wm_preview??? (forgot)
and fresh install again but not work, still no watermark
How can you say your plugin work with wordpress 2.6
why have atleast 2 people say “it doesnot work”

from the first error
i never chagne php.ini file before nohave this error and I set memory size so high already about 32MB
but why when I upload a small file like 15-20kb also dont work, no water mark
and when I use wordpress 2.5 why I can use this plugin and have watermark normally. same php.ini same config

But now everthing okay, Your plugin working already.
Since this plugin doesnt automatically install, you have to go to edit your file before they can work
so anybody that upgrade to wordpress 2.6, this plugin will not work before you go to edit media.php first

Who’s know.. I think just update and everything work same before same others plugin that no need to touch in file
In the future if wordpress update file again can you tell people on your blog that must edit file again not only say “Watermark also compatible with WordPress 2.6″ but never say for whoever that have plugin installed already have to edit file because new wordpress version change some file

/home/host/public_html/mywebsite/wp-admin/error_log: [28-Jun-2008 01:50:55] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9664 bytes) in /home/host/public_html/mywebsite/wp-content/plugins/watermark/wm_functions.php on line 57means, that you want to use more memory, then your webserver can offer you. one of he reasons can be if your picture are to large. check please the size of your picture or try the watermarking with smaller picture.

When pluign generate new picture with watermark, the size increase so much
ex. I save picture in photoshop filesize about 56k but when upload and have watermark
the size increase to 85-95k
So all picture on my site that have watermark size are double.
and
- when I upload .png watermark not transparent same as .gif
- sometime I want to upload .png file but cannot I have go to change to .jpg
- I cannot upload animation gif file or can upload but my .gif change to .jpg so no animation anymore
- In the future release can you make option to watermark only some file ex .jpg
and if I upload .png or .gif no need watermark (can choose which filetype want to make watermark)
- can you make option to choose if image smaller than 300 x 300 (example value) no need watermark
- can you make option to choose how may percent to optimize ex 65-95% to reduce file size after watermark
I think your plugin is the only one and the best because I cannot find any watermark plugin out there
or if have some plugin but it not nice, Your plugin very useful before I have to edit every picture to
manual put watermark but after I use your plugin everthing it easier

I think the same that nadie. I only demand two changes:
- Solve the increment of size with the watermark.
- Make an option for images smallers than 300 x 300 (for example) doesn’t use watermark.
All the rest is perfect for me.

Hi, Great plugin!
However I am having some issues with the way it updates images in batches. When I attempt to update the images in a folder where there are 300-400 images and I check the boxes, I get this error:
“414 Request-URI Too Large
The requested URL’s length exceeds the capacity limit for this server.”
Is there a way to tell it to simply do every image in the folder without needing to specify ids. At the moment the only way I can get one of these folders done is to sit here checking 100 boxes, processing those, then going back checking another 100 etc. We are talking about a few days work on all of my blogs to do it this way.
Is there a function I can run at command line to get all of the images in a folder processed? I do not have access to httpd.conf so can’t change the allowed request uri length. Thanks!

Its just your server configuration doesnt support your step to editing… try one by one or more litlle as you know before…

@anak – yeah I know it’s a server config issue, but I don’t have access to httpd.conf since it is on a shared host. I just wish there was an alternative way to specify folders to watermark. At the moment this limitation would make the plugin almost useless for people with large amounts of images to watermark and on a shared host….

I have selected the option of creating a .bak for my photos at the watermark_dir page and the .bak were created correctly when I clicked on Create Watermark at that page. However, when I upload photos to my post, the watermarks were generated automatically but the .bak were not created. Did I miss out any configuration or are the .bak created elsewhere? Thanks.

Hi Pate,
the backup-function is related to the watermark_dir function. This mean, only if you use mass-watermarking a backup copy of your image will be created. If you upload a picture, no copy will be created.
If this a backup of uploaded picture is a important function for you, then please tell me this in the Feature-Request zone of our Forum.

I can not change the default directly. I am trying it since 1 week with different ways but it still showing the plugin path on the default path. Please help.

This is really awesome and usefull, thanks for the great work.
Now, is there a way it could watermark PREVIOUSLY POSTED images ? I mean I understand this would be hard knowing which one to watermark and which one not to, but what about a one-time action that would rename ALL uploaded (resized, full, but not thumb) pictures ?
For other people who actually can’t make this work…just read the installation guidelines, this DOES work.

unfortunately the changes of the path will be not stored for this version. But you have two ways to navigate to your picture-path. You can type your picture-path in to the form or navigate with click on the directory names listed below the form.

hi again i insert the same codes it is runninng but i guess some times it gives http error when upşoading the images at admin panel. please check it plugin and give us information please. additionaly, at thumbs images the watermarks is big, can it be smaller than at the big picture? take care your self man i am waiting

the good news is that Marekki’s Watermark Plugin 0.8 works fine with WordPress 2.7! For installation details please check the installation guide. I try to solve the problems with watermark on resized pictures in next days.
